Built by Charles Hardy, a Eugene Attorney and a member of the Eugene and Eastern Railway, which was instrumental in promoting the development of the University Street area by agreeing to extend the street car to 23rd street in 1907.
This is an excellent example of Jacobethan/Mixed style that Hardy had copied from a house in Vancouver, BC. The decorative features include bell-cast cross gable, arch-top dormer, semi-circular window and arch-top portal.
