Wednesday, September 21 | 4:30–7:00 p.m.
You’re invited to join leaders and staff from the University of Oregon, City of Eugene, and local law enforcement for an off-campus student welcome and education event!
The Good Neighbor Welcome will kick off with a brief orientation before small groups of folks representing each of these three groups set out on predetermined routes in the near-campus neighborhoods. The goal is to welcome students back for the upcoming academic year and provide information and resources on being a good neighbor and staying safe. After the door-to-door outreach, you’ll meet back up for pizza!
The Good Neighbor Welcome is organized by UO Community Relations, in partnership with the City of Eugene and EPD/UOPD. It will take place on Wednesday September 21 from 4:30-7:00. If you’d like to learn more or join in this effort, please email Cami Thompson, UO Assistant Director for Neighbor Relations: cami@uoregon.edu.
While the Good Neighbor Welcome event is great for the partnership across organizations and resource hand-outs, you are encouraged to get to know your own nearby neighbors to start the year with a heartfelt welcome and conversation.
