SUNA Supports Community Food Drive

SUNA neighbors donated 687 pounds of food (6 huge bins) and $145 during the February 13th food drive for Food For Lane County. These donations will help support the extreme need for food resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the continuing weekly deliveries to McKenzie River residents affected by the Holiday Farm Fire. Our community joined nine other Eugene neighborhoods to raise a total of 11,804 pounds of food and cash For Food for Lane County—a total of 13,190 meals for our community at large.

Special thanks to all our neighbors, especially Pamela Miller and Tracy Phelan for organizing the SUNA effort.

Thanks to SEHS students who volunteered for the SUNA food drive: Julia Scher, Emma Truscott, Devyn Simmons, Katie Siegfried, Chela Wetzel, and Oshen Parris-Austin.

Thanks to Grace Proudfoot, Ivy Proudfoot, Aliyah Tenney, Elizabeth Hamilton, and Paige Hazen, who produced creative lawn signs to advertise SUNA’s collection site for the food drive.

Neighborhood Shout Outs!

Kudos to volunteers who braved the rain to help plant trees at University Park on February 15!
