The first owner of this residence was Leland Johnson. From 1929 to1939 it was owned by Frank X. Schaefers, proprietor of Schaefers Brothers store in downtown Eugene. The Schaefers rented out rooms during the late 1930’s, a common practice in the South University Neighborhood. It is an excellent example of a two-story Colonial Revival home.
