Edison Elementary

On Schedule to Open This Fall!

Edison Elementary School remains on schedule to open this fall as crews continue to make steady progress towards its completion.

Masons are bricking the building’s exterior walls, including the new entry arch on 22nd Avenue. Crews are installing the windows and working on the east side service courtyard and utilities. They are installing a long-lasting metal roof with matching gutters and have started to pour concrete for the planters, sidewalks, and covered play area. There’s also a lot of activity inside the newly erected walls. Workers are putting the finishing touches on the gym and kitchen. Drywall is going up throughout the roughly 82,000-square-foot building, with the texturing and painting of the interior walls to follow. Workers also have begun to fabricate and install shelves, drawers and cabinets throughout the building.

The school’s furniture and outdoor playground equipment will arrive this summer and crews will make sure everything works as planned, allowing staff and approximately 334 students to focus on their teaching and learning after they set foot in the new building.See drone pictures of the school in building-process at www.4j.lane.edu/bond/projects/edison/
