Protecting One Another: When to Engage Law Enforcement
Neighbors are invited to join SUNA at our Zoom General Meeting for a presentation by Berkley Carnine, White Bird Clinic Community Education Specialist and CAHOOTS Crisis Worker.
Description: CAHOOTS is a nationally recognized model for addressing the confluence of community mental health and community policing. This presentation will discuss how to assess scene safety and determine whether to call for emergency services, non-emergency services/CAHOOTS, or de-escalate and address the situation directly. There will be an opportunity for Q&A with participants.
Contributions: White Bird Clinic is requesting donations in support of this program and our most vulnerable residents. If you would like to contribute, please visit whitebirdclinic.org/donate. Please note “SUNA” in your donation, either by clicking “Add a Tribute” or by including a message with your donation (e.g., “Thank you for presenting to SUNA on March 17!”)
Board Nominations also on the Zoom Meeting Agenda
Neighbors will have the opportunity to nominate SUN neighbors to serve as Board members for a 2-year term. Elections will be in the spring.
